Oh wait, yes, it was lavender shortbread! The one I had was a bit dry but honestly worked just fine with the hot chocolate.
I also made an error: I double-checked on where I visited and it wasn't in Kent: we absconded to a town called Rye in East Sussex.
That said, we have some family friends who live in Kent (not far from Ashford) and I actually visited them fairly often when I did my Master's in the UK. Visiting Kent from London was such a breeze, and I really liked the area. :}
